Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Scott Menard

I am a 1985 graduate of Sault High, where I played football, basketball, and baseball.  I attended LSSU for two years before transferring to Central Michigan University.  I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education in English and a minor in physical education from CMU.  I have completed my Masters in Athletic Administration, also from Central Michigan University.

My first teaching job was as a substitute teacher and summer school teacher for the Sault Schools.  In 1991, I started teaching at Engadine High School, where I taught all ELA classes for grades 9-12.  I also coached varsity football, varsity track, and middle school basketball.

In 1997, I was hired at Sault Area High School.  Since returning to Sault High, I have taught English classes in grades 9-12, specifically specializing in 10th grade American Literature.  I have coached middle school boys basketball, freshmen boys basketball, and freshmen girls basketball.  I am currently the Varsity Football coach and the Varsity Girls Track Coach.

I met my wife Tracy, while teaching at Sault High.  We have two amazing kids:  Alex, a student at LSSU, and Billy, a senior at Sault High.

As the new Assistant Principal, I am very excited to help usher in a new era of spirit and enthusiasm for all things Sault High.  After 25 years of being a teacher in the building, I believe my experience in the building will assist me in helping students and staff have a fun, safe, and educational school year.
