  • Materials:

    · Students will be required to come to class prepared with paper and a pencil. (No pens please)

    · Students will be using computers, manipulative's, in class activities, and graphing calculators to explore and understand the district and state standards.

    · Students will be taking various state and local assessments throughout the school year.  

    · There will be an end of marking period test for all 4 quarters  (saving all test and quizzes will be a great asset in studying)

    3rd Hr     9:55 - 10:45      Math 8

    4th Hr    10:50 - 11:40     Math 8 

    5th Hr    11:45 - 12:40     Math 8

    Lunch    12:40-1:10 
    6th Hr    1:15 - 2:05          Conference
    7th Hr    2:10-3:00            WIN Time

     

     

     

  • Grading Scale

    * all scores will be rounded to the nearest whole number

    A =  94 – 100 %           C =    74 – 77 %

    A- = 90 – 93 %             C- =   70 – 73 %

    B+ = 88 – 89 %            D+ =  68 – 69 %

    B =   84 – 87 %            D =    64 – 67 %

    B- =  80 – 83 %            D- =   60 – 63 %

    C+ = 78 – 79 %            E =     0 – 59 %

     

    Assessments:

    All student grades will be weighted according to the following categories 

    Test = 40% 
    Quizzes = 30% 
    Homework / participation = 30% 
     

    Classroom Rules:

    * 4-B expectations should be demonstrated at all times

    * Come to class prepared (all needed materials) everyday
     
    * Try to always have a good attitude and open mind to learning
     
    * In addition to the above, the expectations in the student handbook will be enforced
     

    Failure to follow these rules will result in

    • The student and I meeting together to discuss the problem and generate solutions.

    • A call home to inform parent(s) of the situation.

    • A referral will be given or detention assigned.

    • A meeting will be held with parent(s) and other appropriate personnel at school.
